PURPOSE:

The qualification addresses the NSDS III target of providing programs to meet industry needs, particularly in computer maintenance and support. With the rise of personal and business computing, it prepares students to become skilled computer technicians, proficient in hardware and software troubleshooting.

 

Competent learners will have hands-on repair skills and the ability to assist users, resolve technical issues, and maintain networks and computer systems, often working in IT departments or as support specialists.
The program also encourages entrepreneurial opportunities in computer repair and maintenance.
While it provides foundational knowledge, it does not cover vendor-specific training.

 

Competent learners can pursue various career paths, including roles as database assistants, software developers, network technicians, and system administrators, while also emphasizing the importance of staying updated with technological advancements through professional affiliations.
